Job Summary: VivSoft is seeking a skilled software engineer with deep expertise in both legacy and modern application environments to support the sustainment, optimization, and enhancement of mission-critical systems. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining microservices-based architectures, refactoring legacy MOBCOP code for Air Force use, and developing unit, integration, and automated test suites. The ideal candidate will apply a strong understanding of mobilization systems to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions aligned with contract requirements and modernization objectives.
Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices to support modernization and mission-critical workflows
• Refactor legacy codebases (including MOBCOP) to align with current Air Force requirements and technical standards
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated test suites to ensure software quality and system reliability
• Support ongoing sustainment and optimization of both legacy and modernized applications
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and QA, to ensure cohesive delivery
• Ensure all software meets performance, security, and compliance requirements as outlined in the PWS
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks
• Maintain clear and concise technical documentation to support development and deployment activities
Skills/Qualifications Required: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Clearance: Active secret clearance is required.
- 7+ years in software engineering, including senior-level roles.
- Deep knowledge of AGILE practices, testing phases (IV&V), and SDLC stages (design, deployment, maintenance)
- Implementation of security best practices and performance tuning
- Familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Asana) and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams.
- Analytical thinking to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Clear articulation of technical concepts to stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
- Team-oriented approach for brainstorming and project execution.

Target salary range: $130,000 - $165,000.
