Job Title: Construction Accountant

Location: Noblesville, IN (On-site)

Experience Level: Mid-Senior Level

Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage the financial aspects of multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in budget creation, supplier contract oversight, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Refine current accounting procedures and implement new processes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage inventory and financial records using QuickBooks and Builder Trend .
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop cost-effective budgets for construction jobs.
  • Perform accounting duties throughout project lifecycles, including estimating cash flow and signing off on purchase orders.
  • Analyze transactions, identify potential financial risks, and update budgets as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project finances for auditing and tax purposes.
  • Prepare cost analyses by interpreting financial data and project metrics.
  • Report budget discrepancies and financial risks to management.
  • Monitor market trends to anticipate construction-related price changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Reconcile monthly inventories and work with the CPA for month-end closings and financial statements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance , or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in private or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Builder Trend .
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in construction accounting is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a construction-related financial role is a plus.
